Ever find a webpage that hosts lots of cool images, images you would like to have offline access to? Many of us would much rather have images and other media files stored locally so they can be easily accessed at any time. WebPictureDownloader addresses this precise situation – it is an application that will batch download images and other media files from the webpages you specify. You tell it where to look and what to look for and it will get it for you.

The WebPictureDownloader installer is close to 6MB in size, meaning that on a high-speed internet connection the download will complete in a blink. Run this file and you will be presented with a setup wizard; going through the steps needed to install the application on your Windows PC will also take little time to complete.

The application’s interface is divided into three main panels. To the far left you have a panel that lists all your download projects; there are several sample projects that come bundled with the application to help you get started. After you launch a project, the downloaded media files will be presented in the middle panel. Select a media file and a preview will be presented in the panel to the far right. Above these panels there’s a toolbar with buttons for various functions WebPictureDownloader has to offer.

As mentioned above, WebPictureDownloader comes with a series of built-in sample projects. Select one of them, launch it, and you will see that the application will quickly download media files off the web and store them on your PC. You can view the downloaded pictures, start a slideshow, set them as the desktop background, and more. The purpose of these projects is to quickly show you what can be done with WebPictureDownloader. When you’ve figured things out and you start with a project of your own, you will like that a wizard will help you go through the project creation process. You will also like that you can set up various filters and thus download only the media files you want.

WebPictureDownloader is free to try – 30-day trial with a 100 files per project limit.

Efficiently download tons of images from the web with the user friendly application WebPictureDownloader.

Pros

The WebPictureDownloader installation process goes along smoothly and rapidly. There are numerous sample projects you can get started with. A wizard will help you set up projects of your own. There are multiple filters you can set up. Preview downloaded images, view them as a slideshow, set them as the desktop wallpaper. The interface is quite easy to use.

Cons

30-day trial that will not download more than 100 images per project; nag screen.
